The Lindow Singers is a mixed voice choir of around 60 singers.
We rehearse weekly on Monday evenings in Handforth, Wilmslow, and give four main concerts
a year, mainly in the Wilmslow, Handforth and Alderley Edge areas.
From time to time we join forces with other Choral Societies to perform larger works.
In 2005 we performed Mendelssohn's Elijah with Sale Choral Society at the Royal Northern
College of Music. Our repertoire is both sacred and secular.
Our Musical Director is a highly skilled chorus trainer and is helping the choir to
develop its ability and extend its repertoire.
We also have occasional workshops and a social programme.
The choir was founded in 1964 by a group of friends in Wilmslow, meeting to sing in a
flat near Lindow Common. Since then, in addition to enjoying regular performances of
good music, we have raised the present day equivalent of over £30,000 for local charities.
We are still a friendly group and are happy to consider applications from singers who
would like to join us.
